Groth Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

I am by no means a Wine Officiando.  I feel that wine appreciation is as diverse as art appreciation.  It varies tremendously from person to person based on their own likes and dislikes.  Which sometimes change occasion to occasion and mood to mood.  I’ve often tuned out when someone starts “wine speaking” to me simply because I don’t care to go that in-depth about the “notes” and “flavors”.  I want to taste it.  And then I can easily tell you to fill my glass or next please.

Therefore, my wine posts will be as such: 1) the above explanation 2) if you see a wine on my list, I like it.

And that is all folks.

Peju Provence – Napa Valley, CA

Provence wine from Peju winery is a versatile, very easy to drink red and white blend.  Can be easily paired with a variety of foods.  It’s a light enough red that even white drinkers may enjoy it.  And you can serve chilled or room temperature.  Runs for about $25 but I think you can only buy Provence at the winery at this time.  BUT, wine.com sells some of Peju’s other wines!

Darioush Darius II Cabernet Sauvignon

Gibbston Valley Winery – Queenstown, New Zealand

If you’re looking for a nice place to enjoy lunch while wine tasting in the valley, definitely stop at The Gibbston Valley Winery restaurant, where your waiter will perfectly pair wines with your lunch choices. Wether you want to sit indoors on a chilly day or outdoors when the weather is nice, you’ll find your surroundings cheerful and relaxing.  There’s also a shop on site for those of us who like to shop! The tasting room is bright and open with plenty of room to accommodate small or large groups.  The wines are versatile and easy to drink.

Hall Winery – Napa Valley, California

Napa Valley wineries continue to outdo one another.  I absolutely love the grounds at Hall Winery.  There’s a Wine & Art tour that I definitely want to take advantage of next time I visit. Even though we didn’t have time to take a tour this visit, we still enjoyed plenty of art exhibits as they are everywhere you turn.  The views of the vineyard are beautiful, as is the modern tasting room.  The wines are fantastic and there’s even a bocce court if you’re feeling frisky.
